Grid Series #29, 1983
Greg Kucera
(American, born 1956)
Location: Bellingham School District Facilities and Sustainability Department, Bellingham
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
'Grid Series #19' is part of a body of works by artist Greg Kucera. He created the composition by spattering paint in layers over taped grids. His experience in urban environments inspired the series. He notes, "My works are the product of living in the city. The grids are the ever-present structure of the city--- the sidewalks, the window patterns, the block by block sense of distance and the dizzying sense of height and space."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bellingham School District.
