ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Landscape #6 is part of artist Joe Max Emminger’s body of abstract landscapes. He uses lines, shapes, and areas of rich color to hint at perspective and natural forms. He notes, “This is a landscape with lots of movement, insects, and lots of life.”
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with East Valley School District (Spokane).
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Seattle-based artist Joe Max Emminger is a self-taught painter who creates bold and colorful narrative compositions populated with stylized human and animal figures. In 2019, the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art presented the solo exhibition "Joe Max Emminger: The Long Way Home".
