ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Late Winter - Our Motion Continues is an impressionistic landscape painting by late artist Leland Standley. His use of color and detailed, gestural brushstrokes creates texture and a sense of atmospheric depth. He described this landscape painting as a "reminder that we are part of life's cycle; that our lives are not separate; that we are connected with one another and with natural forces. Winter is filled with hidden energies of spring: Everything is before us."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Thurston Public Schools.
