Mojuana Tolon's Number Thirty-Four painting is realistic but also almost abstract with its close focus on lines, angles, forms, and texture. The many diagonal lines draw the eye to explore.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Eastern Washington University.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mojuana Tolon is a Seattle-based artist. She studied painting at the Cornish Institute in Seattle, at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, and at the University of Arizona in Tuscon. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1978 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, in 1980.
