ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Gene Pool is a ceramic mosaic sculpture created by artist Linda Beaumont. The design is energetic and richly detailed, with many different textures and patterns. Installed in an outside courtyard, she designed it to hold water and serve as a microhabitat for observation by students.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Hoquiam School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Seattle-based artist Linda Beaumont creates paintings, sculptures, and large-scale installations for public spaces. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and ceramics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
