ABOUT THE ARTWORK
No Muscle Beach is a colorful and humorous mural by artist Gene Gentry McMahon. The composition features a lively scene of different characters. This artwork captures the sights and experiences of a day at the beach. The title is a play on "Muscle Beach" in Venice Beach, California which is a popular spot for body builders.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Transportation.

Seattle-based artist Gene Gentry McMahon is a figurative painter and muralist. Her paintings look at society using a creative, humorous style. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Washington in Seattle.
