ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Lorraine Krol created the print Magic Trees while living in Eugene, Oregon. She notes, "This print depicts a stand of trees I found behind Spencer's Butte, a beautiful city park outside of the city. I was impressed by the dense lushness of the ferns, and the majesty of the trees." She drew the image onto a lithographic plate using an oil-based crayon or pencil. She then wetted the plate and applied ink, which clung only to the drawn areas. She then pressed the plate into paper to transfer the image.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Parks and Highline Community College.
