ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Blue Eye Bowl is a blown-glass sculpture created by artist Paul Marioni. It is part of a body of work about looking and seeing. It was designed with a rounded base, which allows the sculpture to rock back and forth as an eye might dart. He notes, "Looking is to turn your eyes towards something. Seeing is to perceive or understand what you are looking at. Drawing is seeing and so is appreciating an artwork."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.
