ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Relationship is an oil painting created by artist Lisa Buchanan. It is part of a series of paintings that explore "emotional landscapes." She notes, "In this painting I sought a dialogue between structure, human forms, and the idea of how memory and history could be conveyed through this combination."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tenino School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lisa Buchanan is a Seattle-based contemporary artist who creates paintings and collages.
Born in San Francisco, California, Buchanan studied at Centro Intercultural de Documentación (CIDOC) in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and at Princeton University in New Jersey.
