ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Politically Correct Graffiti/Words of Wisdom is one of two mixed-media wall sculptures by artist Katherine Holzknecht comprised of text and found objects. As a reinterpretation of graffiti, the artist seeks to "give the audience a positive message in a challenging medium." It is installed next to another piece titled 'Learning Never Ends'.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest artist Katherine Holzknecht creates artworks in cast cement, mixed material wall assemblage, watercolor paints, and stained glass.
Holzknecht earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Textile Design and Fiber Arts from the University of Washington in Seattle. She lives and works in Woodinville, Washington.
