October Fragments, 1993

Robert Graves
(American, born 1929, died 2013)

Location: Emily Dickinson Elementary, Redmond

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Reminiscent of falling leaves, artist Robert Graves' collagraph print October Fragments is comprised of energetic abstract forms. Of his compositions, Graves notes "my object is not to copy nature, but relate on the canvas certain entities of personal expression."

In collagraphic printmaking, various materials and elements are collaged onto a printing plate. This process creates a variety of textures and forms in the print.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Washington School District.
