Elevate is a whimsical imagined scene by artist Jack Portland comprised of surreal abstract forms shaded to emphasize depth. He notes, "the images I create are about fantasy and the release fantasy gives."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Evergreen School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jack Portland creates abstracted still-life, figurative, and landscape paintings in a variety of media.
He studied at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He graduated from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1971 and lives in Portland, Oregon.
