(American, born 1924, died 2019)

Location: Mount Baker Junior/Senior High School, Deming

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Enriched by nature and seeking to depict the beauty to be found in the simplest of subjects, late photographer Mary Randlett captures the graceful and luminous form of a common Gull as it cuts through rippling water. This photograph was taken on the Seattle waterfront and is part of a series of photographs included in the 1994 book "Seeing Seattle", with text written by Roger Sale and published by the University of Washington.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mount Baker School District.
