TOGETHER BAILAMOS, 2024
Fisher, Bennett, and Sanchez
Joshua Fisher (American); Cory Bennett (American); Jefte Sanchez (American)
Location: Mount Vernon High School, Mount Vernon
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The artist team of Fisher, Bennett, and Sanchez created TOGETHER BAILAMOS to be a daily reminder for students and faculty to slow down and connect with one another. They hope it will foster a positive and uplifting environment, and send the message that anything is possible when you work together as a team. The artwork is made of two images in different poses, over background imagery of the history of Mount Vernon High School, ecological motifs, vibrant colors, and inspiring phrases. These elements represent the school, community, and area, and they send a powerful message of love, understanding, and hope.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Mount Vernon School District.
