Red River is an abstract painting by artist James Deitz. The title references the geographical area where the artist grew up and the colors and forms represent the emotion, passions, and sense of confinement he recalled from his experiences in high school.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.

Artist James Deitz creates expressive abstract and figurative paintings.
Deitz completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing from the University of North Dakota, and his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.
