ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Cable Griffith's Plein@ir 1.3 (Halle Ravine) is a “visual ecosystem” that explores micro and macro environments. Griffith notes, “My work comes from a deep appreciation of nature and a desire to communicate our shared and complex relationship to it.” He translates the landscape through a system of mark-making. His paintings are about the relationship of parts to a whole. Smaller, simplified images combine to create a place that exists somewhere between virtual, real, and imagined.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Social and Health Services.
