ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Erin Shie Palmer created these steel trees to bring the natural environment of coastal Ilwaco into the daily life of the students at Hilltop Middle School. The trees appear to expand beyond the building's frame, reminding students "that they are rooted in the community of Ilwaco and part of larger whole."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Ocean Beach School District.
