ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Untitled Flyover is a print by artist Brian Paulsen. He worked out the composition first as a watercolor study. He describes the imagery as a "composite of Seattle memories." Each element adds meaning and symbolism. He notes that the boat and lighthouse suggest warning and escape. He continues, "The robot running is a fictional image inserted to give a counterpoint to the otherwise static landscape and to couple with the airplane shadows to suggest movement."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
