Joyce Majiski

(Canadian, born 1959)

Artist Joyce Majiski's work examines our connection to the natural world, wild spaces, and environmental issues. She considers herself a printmaker but she also creates paintings, photography, letterpress, sculpture, and site-specific installations.

Majiski has been based in the Yukon Territory, in northern Canada, since 1984. She has also worked as a biologist and wilderness adventure guide in the Yukon. These experiences have contributed largely to her artistic practice and taken her to remote wild spaces.
