Suzanne Hellmuth and Jock Reynolds

Suzanne Hellmuth (American, born 1947); Jock Reynolds (American, born 1947)

Suzanne Hellmuth and Jock Reynolds have been an artist team and a married couple since the 1970s. Their artworks are often focused on interpreting and hightlighting history.

Suzanne Hellmuth is a visual artist, dancer, and choreographer. She graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio in 1968 and received a Master of Arts degree from San Francisco State University in 1972.

Jock Reynolds is a multi-media artist, teacher, and museum director. Reynolds entered the University of California, Santa Cruz, as a marine biology major and left as a sculptor with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Davis in 1972. He taught at the Center for Experimental and Interdisciplinary Art at San Francisco State University for over a decade. Reynolds served for over twenty years as Director (1998-2018) of the Yale University Art Gallery in Connecticut.
