ABOUT THE ARTWORK

OZ #57/Tidbinbilla is part of a body of work created by artist Juliana Heyne after a five month trip to Australia in 1984. The imagery is inspired by the distinctive landscape of the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve in southeastern Australia, home to a diverse array of plants and animals. Heyne notes "With its spectacular and bizarre landscape, plants and animals, Australia truly seems to be a Land of Oz."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Ephrata School District.
