ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This photograph is part of a group of four images by artist Michael Stone. He combined toy figures with background sky imagery. The images resonate with themes of teamwork and support in the midst of risk. They are part of the artist's body of work depicting toys and flight.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Tumwater School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Artist Michael Stone combines photographic images with sculptural, painted, digital, and non-traditional elements and media. He is based in Roslyn, Washington.
Stone received Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles. He taught photography at Central Washington State College (now Central Washington University) in Ellensburg.
