ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Mako is part of artist Peter Alexander's body of abstract velvet paintings created in the 1980s. Layering expressive forms in bold colors over a black velvet background, these works explore the rich intensity of contrasts between material, color, and imagery.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Social and Health Services.
