Pool #1, 1979

Paul Bladek
(American, born 1955)

Location: Washington State Arts Commission, Olympia

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Pool #1 is a colorful painting created by artist Paul Bladek. He notes, "In it, the use of areas of flat color and texture is opposed to the apparent deep space created by the compositional elements and perspective. This apparent contradiction is merely a personal fascination, and will, one would hope, add to the interest of the painting."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Mason School District.
