ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Circle of Fifths is a monoprint artwork created by artist Ann Lasko-Harvill. She created this monoprint by painting directly onto the printing plate. She then transferred the painted image onto paper to create a single print. She notes, "The monoprinting process is a wonderful bridge between spontaneous image making, almost like finger-painting on the plate, and the lovely formality of printmaking, its beautiful paper and strong graphic impact. My monoprints are intuitive images, influenced by the relationship between biology and psychology. And sometimes just pleasuring in the graphic mark."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with University of Washington.
