ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Bill Brewer created the gestural figures in Eurythmy through a process he calls "almost drawing", in which he layers paint and scratches it off to form images. The title refers to the movement-art taught in Waldorf schools and used as therapy.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Cle Elum-Roslyn School District and Highline Community College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Oregon-based artist Bill Brewer creates stylized, figurative paintings. Speaking about his process, Brewer notes that "sometimes the paint leads...the color leads...the form leads. It's a conversation between the artist and art work. Painting, sculpture, doing art is a process of discovery."
