ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist John Young highlights the interaction between man and nature with a fragmented basalt "stitched" together, a metaphor for "healing" adjacent to the Allied Health Building at Wenatchee Valley College.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Wenatchee Valley College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
John Young is a Seattle-based artist and Professor. He creates large-scale outdoor sculpture for public spaces. He served as Professor of Sculpture and Public Art at the University of Washington for over twenty years. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College in 1976. He received a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 1978.
