ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Photographer Bill Woolston's Combine Repair captures a man at work repairing farm equipment. The expansive sky and land create a heroic frame and also contrast the working man. This piece is part of a body of work by Woolston that documents wheat harvesting in the Palouse region.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Corrections and Renton Technical College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Landscape and documentary photographer Bill Woolston captures scenes of a timeless and rugged American West.
Woolston is Professor Emeritus at the University of Idaho's College of Art and Architecture where he specialized in digital imaging, photography, and visual thinking. A selection of his black and white photographs are featured at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C. He received a Master of Fine Arts in photography from the Art Institute of Chicago.
