ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Michael Lindenmeyer's pastel drawing Elks, PT is a portrait of the Elks Club building in Port Townsend, Washington. The artist kept a studio above a tavern in downtown Port Townsend during the summer of 1985 and 1986. He notes, "I think it was around 1983 I saw Port Townsend for the first time (it was in May for the Rhododendron Festival), and I instantly loved it for both scenic waterfront beauty and the old buildings. I feel like my time in P.T. has been one of this life's great experiences."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Arts Commission.
