ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Melinda Thorsnes created the painting Things that Go Bump in the Day based on a family photograph. The painting shows several young figures playing in a pumpkin patch. She notes, "When my grandmother died in 1971, I inherited the family photo albums and set about painting reconstructions of the events that I was, in some cases, too young to remember."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Franklin Pierce School District.
