Diane Bonciolini

(American, born 1950)

Bainbridge Island-based artist Diane Bonciolini works in glass. She creates dishware, fused glass murals, stained glass architectural treatments, and concrete with embedded glass. Her work is informed by technical skill fused with emotional inspiration. In her own words, "Glass has been my media of expression since 1974. It is colorful, seductive and lively with the ability to change shape and form whenever it is heated. It is a magical material."

Bonciolini has attended Pilchuck Glass School (Stanwood, Washington), Penland School of Crafts (North Carolina), and Pratt Fine Arts Center (Seattle, Washington). She teaches in the glass studio at the Bainbridge Artisans Resource Network (BARN) on Bainbridge Island, on Puget Sound, Western Washington.
