Alan McNiel

(American, born 1955)

Alan McNiel is a Montana-based artist. He created ceramic pottery and sculpture for over twenty years before he turned to a focus on painting. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State Univeristy at Fort Collins in 1978. He received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Montana in 1987, where he served as a teaching assistant in Sculpture. He has served as an art instructor for learning programs at Colorado State Univeristy and Fort Collins Parks and Recreation. He served as adjunct faculty for Lewis & Clark College (in Portland, Oregon) North Idaho Extension program from 1988-90.
