Sally Haley

(American, born 1908, died 2007)

Artist Sally Haley (1908-2007) was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to a family of artists. A student of European Renaissance painting (1300-1700), Haley created portraits and interior still life compositions. in 1931, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Yale University in Connecticut. She studied in Munich, Germany and traveled to France and Italy before settling in Portland, Oregon in 1947. Portland Art Museum exhibited a retrospective of her work in 1975. She was honored with an Oregon Governor's Award for the Arts in 1989.
