Harry Heine

(Canadian, born 1928, died 2004)

Late artist Harry Heine (1928-2004) created watercolor paintings of maritime scenes and seascapes.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Heine lived most of his life in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He was elected to the Royal Academy of Marine Artists in 1980, the first Canadian to receive the honor. He was a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Northwest Watercolor Society, and Vice President of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists. He was named an Honorary Citizen of the City of Victoria in 1985. He conducted painting workshops and demonstrations in Western Canada and abroad.
