Chicago-based artist Lynn Basa creates public art sculptures, conceptual paintings, works on paper, and assemblages. Her artworks are created around themes of accidents, awkwardness, and secrets.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University, a Master of Public Administration degree in Arts Management from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in studio art from the Art Institute of Chicago. She also studied at the Gobelin Tapestry Workshop in Provence, France. She has taught in the Sculpture department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
