Barbara Earl Thomas

Seattle-based artist and writer Barbara Earl Thomas creates visual narratives that investigate social, psychological, and formal themes. She was mentored by celebrated Northwest artists Jacob Lawrence and Michael Spafford. Her art is informed by a "long and consistent practice of including the world in her art and her life in the world."

Thomas was honored with a Washington State Governor's Arts and Heritage Award in 2016, awarded by Governor Jay Inslee. She also received the 2016 Twining Humber Award for lifetime artistic achievement.
