Raymond Gendreau is a photographer and teacher based on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He serves as an instructor for the Art Institute of Seattle. He grew up in New England and Florida and became interested in photography while serving in the Navy, stationed in the Mediterranean in the early 1970s. He began taking photographs of street scenes in Barcelona, Napels, and Athens. After his service in the military, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando in 1977. He lived for several years in Dallas, Texas before relocating to Seattle in 1987.
