Patti Warashina

Seattle-based ceramic artist Patti Warashina creates humorous and expressive figurative sculptures.

Patti Warashina was born and grew up in Spokane, Eastern Washington. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and moved to Seattle, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (1962) and a Master of Fine Arts degree (1964) from the University of Washington. She originally planned to become a dentist, but a ceramics elective course resulted in her changing her major to Art. She taught art at the University of Washington from 1970 to 1995. Warashina received the 2002 Twining Humber Award for lifetime artistic achievement and her art is in many museums across the United States.
