Women Artists
In 1987, Congress designated the month of March as Women’s History Month, in perpetuity. Women’s History Month is now used to highlight the contributions and achievements of women to events in history and contemporary society. And many state departments of education encourage celebrations of Women's History Month as a way to promote equality in the classroom.
Learn about the history of women by exploring their stories through art, from Washington’s State Art Collection.
