Maps in Art
Maps are an interesting intersection of imagery and data, of beauty and usefulness. Like a picture, a map can also be worth a thousand words. A map easily shows us something that can often be difficult to explain or fully understand.
We like to say that My Public Art Portal is the only way to see Washington's State Art Collection all in one place: that is, online. We now have another way to see the entire Collection of more than 5,000 artworks all at once: via our new, interactive map. In honor of our new map of the State Art Collection, we also bring you artworks that include maps in a variety of ways.
