About the Artwork
Inspired by maps, landscapes, world textiles, and non-traditional quilt designs, Julia Haack paints and pieces together strips of salvaged wood to design flat sculptures, or "wall constructions."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula College.
About the Artist
Seattle-based visual artist Julia Haack uses re-purposed wood to create sculptures and wall constructions. She uses human touch as inspiration for her unique, imperfect work. Her exploration crosses the boundaries of painting and sculpture as well as craft and art. Julia Haack received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire in Durham in 1988.
