ArtsWA partners with WDVA, ESD for Serving Those Who Served 2025

ArtsWA is proud to partner with the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) and the Employment Security Department (ESD) for the 2025 Serving Those Who Served conference.

Serving Those Who Served is a two-day, Veterans resource providers’ conference connecting professionals from a variety of state agencies and community partners from across the state. The conference will include breakout sessions such as An Employment Partnership between WorkSource and the Yakama Tribe, Understand the WorkSource System (focused on Service to Veterans presented by Employment Security), Fly Tying with Project Healing Waters and Make a Song: Poetry and the Veteran Experience (presented by Washington State Poet Laureate Derek Sheffield).

Author Shannon Huffman Polson and Washington State Poet Laureate Derek Sheffield will present as keynote speakers.

“ArtsWA is proud to support Veterans through our Wellness, Arts, and the Military program – a first of its kind in the country,” said ArtsWA Executive Director Karen Hanan. “We know that creativity forges a path for healing and connection. We’re honored to bring these tools and opportunities to our Veteran neighbors at Serving Those Who Served.”
