The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) announced the election of a new chair and five new members to its board of directors. ArtsWA Executive Director, Karen Hanan was among three new members drawn from the state arts agency field to serve on the NASAA board. Each will serve a three-year term. The new chair, Suzanne Wise of Nebraska, will serve a two-year term. Two new at-large members each will serve a two-year term. Read the NASAA press release.
Congress has passed the third COVID-19 response relief package, which the president has signed into law. The package includes a $75 million allocation to the National Endowment for the Arts. Of this, 40% will be distributed to the United States’ 56 state and jurisdictional arts agencies, which includes the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA).
