Untitled from the "Work" series (bricks) is part of artist Connie Ritchie's body of hand-colored photographs. By hand-applying color, she is able to embellish, emphasize, or hide different areas of the composition. This series looks at attitudes about work in different cultures.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Yakima School District.

About the Artist

Northwest artist Connie Ritchie creates hand-painted, still-life photographs that explore themes of life and death, identity, and nature. She received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Commercial Photography from Seattle Central College.
