About the Artwork
Valley Foothills, Winter Trees is part of a series of photographs by artist David Grant Best that capture the landscape of Washington's Skagit River region during autumn and winter. The scenery is shaped and defined by heavy precipitation, fog, and snow, what Best describes as elements of a "mystical landscape."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Burlington-Edison School District.
About the Artist
Northwest photographer David Grant Best composes images of the natural environment and rural communities. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Washington in 1972.
