About the Artwork

Heritage Brocade was inspired by the western sword ferns and flowering dogwoods that are native plants of Southwestern Washington. Images of the plants' leaves and flowers are inscribed in four panels set within cast stone benches along the entrance to Heritage High School.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Evergreen School District.

About the Artist

Portland, Oregon-based artist Anne Storrs creates sculptures inspired by natural forms, and they often involve pattern and repetition. Her work includes small ceramic pieces as well as large-scale installations in metal, concrete, ceramic, and stone.
