About the Artwork
Jo Fyfe creates artworks inspired by Native American spirituality. ‘Reflections’ celebrates spring and fall. It is composed in a geometric pattern in the rich colors of sunset. The central circle depicts a group of deer and their reflected shadows. This piece symbolizes the cycle of the seasons and the circle of life.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Yakima School District.
About the Artist
Jo Fyfe explores color, texture, and narrative using a variety of materials and found objects.Born in Omak, Northeastern Washington, non-Native artist Jo Fyfe's artworks are influenced by the heritage of Native American cultures of the interior Pacific Northwest. She earned a Master in Fine Arts degree from Washington State University in Pullman, Eastern Washington, and taught art for many years at Spokane Falls Community College. She is based in Spokane, Eastern Washington.
