About the Artwork
Ship and I is a painted and carved wooden sculpture by artist Jody Isaacson. She notes, "I used a ship to carry my thoughts as they passed through my head. The black U shaped head felt like myself and the images carved into the wood ship told the narrative that I was attempting to insert in my work. The narrative theme has to do with communication and break down of communication."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State Arts Commission.
