This hand-built clay lantern by ceramic artist Charles Hannegan investigates the relationship between pattern and structure. Describing what motivates his creativity and his interest in clay as a material, Hannegan states "Man forms nature to recognize the process by which nature forms man."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Northshore School District.
