About the Artwork
Destiny Unknown by artist Terry Reed is part of a series of photographs that explore how the reflective quality of light and water as experienced on a ferry creates a space for contemplation and reflection. Reed notes that this piece "is deep with metaphor. What can be 'read' from the elements of this image? These people behind a heavily sealed window. A glass made hazy by reflected clouds and bird droppings. What looks on their faces? Where are they going?"
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Battle Ground Public Schools.
About the Artist
Terry Reed is a Seattle-based photographer whose work explores form, light and color in landscape, still life, and abstracted imagery. In his own words: "We don't need color, we don't need a full spectrum of visible light to feel the message. We need an inner stillness so we can hear our heart's song."
